Advanced Analytical Techniques Using Quantum Beams
We use advanced analytical techniques at quantum-beam facilities—such as the 3 GeV high-brightness synchrotron radiation facility “NanoTerasu” and the “JRR-3” research reactor—to examine sample microstructures, electronic states, and crystallographic structures.
For example, with coherent X-ray imaging at BL10U in NanoTerasu, we visualized the dispersion of thickening agents in grease. Using the thermal neutron radiography system at JRR-3, we conducted in situ observations of grease distribution inside bearings and of grease flow behavior during bearing rotation. These results have been presented at conferences and submitted for journal publication.
The insights gained from these analyses help accelerate R&D, improve product performance, and address operational issues. We will continue to strengthen our analytical and interpretive capabilities to support both business and research needs.
