Development of racing oils

Motor sports are highly competitive events that test the performance limits of motorcycles and automobiles. The technologies developed at ENEOS to improve power output and fuel efficiency in competitive settings have been further applied to many commercially available lubricant products for both motorcycles and automobiles.

Development of MotoGP specialized oils
—Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and ENEOS—

The MotoGP (FIM Grand Prix World Championship) is the world’s top motorcycle racing series, and a major stage to present partnership between YAMAHA and ENEOS.
ENEOS has been sponsoring Yamaha Factory Racing since 2012 and began to supply co-developed specialty oils in 2015.
The partnership contributed to Yamaha’s Triple Crown victory in 2015 and their 500th FIM Grand Prix win in 2017.
ENEOS will continue to work with YAMAHA to push the limits of their state-of-the-art motorcycles.

Development of rally engine oils
—Mitsubishi Motors and ENEOS—

From 1982 to 2009, ENEOS has supplied engine oil to Mitsubishi Motors for Paris-Dakar Rally and the World Rally Championship (WRC), both of which are known as tough rallies.
In 2021, Mitsubishi Motors announced participation in Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2022, the most authoritative cross-country rally competition in Asia, and joint development of engine oil between ENEOS and Mitsubishi Motors has begun.
Staff members who won the 2002 Dakar Rally in which Hiroshi Masuoka, a director of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart won as a driver, also joined in to discuss the required performance of the new engine oils and how to ensure that the engine is reliable enough through the tough rally. We succeeded in developing the engine oils and achieved good rally results, winning in 2022 and 3rd in 2023, finishing on the podium for two consecutive years.
